About us

The Nurturing Future Minds website was launched in 2021 to support good social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) wellbeing in Londoners in their early years, that is from birth to age five. It was set up by the Wandle Early Years Hub, a collaboration of education and early years agencies and one of three hubs funded by the Greater London Authority to improve the uptake and quality of early years education.

The website aims to raise awareness of the importance of mental health and wellbeing support for professionals, parents and carers living and working in London, to increase understanding of child learning and development, and to share Early Years training methods developed by the Wandle hub.

Through the website, parents and carers can access free information, advice and online resources, including videos, activity ideas and links to trusted websites, to help them maintain or boost their own mental health and wellbeing and feel confident to do the same for their children. For practitioners, there are information and resources to help them support the parents and children they are working with, including SEMH research articles, best practice examples, details of training and accredited learning opportunities, and suggestions to support their own wellbeing.

The website has been set up in response to the demand from parents, carers and professionals for more SEMH resources and information, and to the growing mental health crisis among Londoners of all ages, which has been exacerbated by Covid-19 and lockdown.
