I would like to support my child's wellbeing

Professionals who can support my child

Health visitors

A health visitor is a nurse or midwife who has undertaken additional training in order to support families with new born babies with their physical and mental health.

Health visitors offer practical advice and tips as well as being a source of information about local services and groups.

A health visitor may visit you at home or may offer services from health centres and children’s centres in your local area.

They will typically visit you in the first 14 days of your child’s birth and can continue to offer advice until your child turns 5.

If you do not have a health visitor, contact your midwife or GP.
